Reminder: RSO Class Scheduled October 30, 2021

RSO Class Scheduled October 30

Club members who want to earn 1.5 times workhours credit by serving as Range Safety Officers should attend the NRA certification class on Saturday, August 28 or October 30.

Common-sense rules supervised by Range Safety Officers make our shooting sport one of the safest hobbies.

NRA Instructor, Club member and Chief Range Safety Officer Richard “Dick” Reizner will lead the class sharing his 60 plus years of shooting experience. Dick said, “While the information the class provides is important, the RSO’s attitude in passing it on is what really makes the range safe for shooters.”

The session will be held in the Old Clubhouse from 9am-6pm. Previous classes have sold out quickly so early registration is recommended.

Fees:
MSI Members: $35*
Non-Members: $50

*For MSI Members, the $35 will be refunded after you volunteer 12 hours as an RSO.

For further information, or to register, contact Dick at

Double-Action Revolver Match – Jan. 16, 2021

It was about as nice a day that you could ask for in January.  With 21 shooters we had our largest turnout ever, with a couple of first time participants.  Many of the shooters have show significant improvement and most folks are resolving ammo glitches that have been a problem.  One curve-ball we threw at the participants was that stages 5 & 6 were shot one-handed.  Today our numbers were large enough that be had two separate groups using different stages.  Thanks to Tony Abbott and John Swan for taking on R/O duties that allowed us to have two groups.  As usual it looked like everyone enjoyed the match.  Out next match will be February 20th.  Hope to see you there.

Double-Action Revolver Match – Dec. 19, 2020

Attached are the scores form today’s match.
It was a chilly start but turned out to be a pleasant day for 14 shooters, half of whom shot the match in the “Big Bore” category.  Roger Beckler was a our only first time competitor with his .44 S&W.
Smaller targets presented a challenge and slowed times a bit.  The scores are a presented in a new format, similar to what we use for our SASS matches.  See you all on January 16th.

Double-Action Revolver Match – Nov. 21, 2020

We had 15 shooters today for the November Double Action Revolver Match.  There was at least one new participant, who did well for his first attempt at action shooting on steel targets.  Due to time constraints we did not have the “Half Match” which is popular with many of the participants.  Many of the shooters are showing great improvement with more exposure to revolver action shooting but several folks were plagued by ammo and equipment issues today.  In spite of that, every one enjoyed the cool but pleasant weather and the challenging knock-down targets that were part of today’s course.  The next D/A Revolver Match will be on December 19th.
Anyone wishing to participate can contact Mike Maciel (E-mail: sintreetulait@yahoo.com,  Phone:  209-879-3148) for information.
